Summer news - 2008

Hello all!

A lot has happened since the start of this year and we’ve decided that we want to shout about it. So, welcome to the first update from Lucy Attwood Events, we hope you enjoy it and choose to read on.

We’ve travelled the length and breadth of the country to produce some of the most memorable corporate parties, birthday celebrations, weddings, festivals and sporting events this summer.  We’ve even had to expand our team to cope with the demand!

Below are some of our favourite events from the Summer just gone (or is it still here!?), along with a reminder that it's not too late to organise your Christmas party and a competition to win one of ten fabulous Debrett's Wedding Guides that we’re giving away, edited by our very own Lucy Attwood.

Westlife rocks

Arriving on a private jet, Westlife performed to a private audience of 90 lucky guests at one of Yorkshire’s most historic venues - Harewood House. A mystical enchanted forest scene provided the backdrop to this 40th birthday party. Following a meal to remember, guests were treated to a private audience with Ireland’s world famous boy band, with the birthday girl being invited on-stage for a serenade to remember!

Knepp High Goal Polo

For the second year running Lucy Attwood Events was brought on board to be ‘event consultants’ to Seven Events for their High Goal Polo event at Knepp Castle, West Sussex. Blessed with near perfect weather, a helicopter landing pad and a tent filled with 440 special guests and VIPs, the event proved to be a huge success. Tickets are already on sale for next year. Visit their website here for more information or to see the glamour of this years event!

Russian Adagio

At the height of the summer, another private 40th birthday party left the Cotswolds neighbours with something to talk about! Following a two-week set build, this event boasted aerial acrobats, flown in from Russia and suspended over a swimming pool on an 80ft crane, as well as fire eaters, magicians and jugglers! Marquees were decorated in the style of the famous Momo restaurant and burst with an abundance of flowers, Eastern food and Moroccan Mint Tea martinis!

Festival madness

Teepees galore, live bands, all in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside! This was the private festival-come-birthday to be at this Summer.  “Thank you to all at Lucy Attwood events for creating the best party I’ve ever been to, let alone hosted. We have been inundated with thank you letters all saying the same thing…that it was the party of the year, unbeatable, perfect in every detail and unparalleled for sheer fun! You took on all the hard work, effort and worry of the organization and added some inspirational touches so that all we had to do was enjoy ourselves, which we did with gusto!”

Say no more….

Christmas is coming

It’s not too late, really it’s not! If you’ve been charged with this years Christmas bash and are running short of a) time, b) ideas or c) cash, or all three, then maybe we can help you. Be it in your office, a drinks party at home or in a swanky city venue, we can wave our magic wand and make it happen – experience tells us so. We take the stress out of the organising so that you can inject the fun!

‘Carols by Candlelight’ – 10th December, 2008

And on a final note, once again Lucy Attwood Events is helping to organise this well-known charity evening. On Wednesday 10th December the sixth ‘Carols by Candlelight’, in aid of the Alice Martineau Appeal for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, will be held as usual at St. Lukes’ Church, Chelsea. Eton College Chapel Choir will be leading the service along with guest appearances from Jenny Agutter and hopefully Dame Judi Dench, the patron. In 2007 over nine hundred people attended the service and the evening raised over £60,000. We are expecting a full house once again and are hoping to exceed last year’s figure.

Should you wish to receive a ticket application form to attend the event or even better, sponsor us, then do get in touch by email to parties@lucyattwoodevents. Tickets are subject to availability, and usually sell out by the end of October, so be quick!

We’re a small team with big ideas and bags of enthusiasm, experience and flair! We’d like to think that our service is unique and unparalleled. We love what we do and this really shows. We’re only as good as our last event and we have plenty of happy clients to say, ‘here here!’.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,

Lucy and the team
